  1. Abbey says:

yes because you can get married and have children at 16 so why can they have a say too?

  2. Shannon says:

Yes because if you have the responsibility of a child you should have the responsibility to vote.

    • Shannon says:

Also me and Tabitha think if you have the responsibility to send your children to the right school, raise a child properly and buy things for the child you should have the responsibility to vote and put other peoples futures in your hands.

  3. Luke E says:

If you can have a child at 16 and get married that is a big responsibility so you should have the responsibility to vote for who you think should run the country

  4. Kamaljot says:

One reason for is that 16 year old have babies and can get married so if they can have a responsibility of a child I think they can have the responsibility of voting.

  5. Holly says:

I think the legal age to vote should be 17 because you are legally allowed to have kids and that means you will have a stronger responsibility with your choosing!

  6. Tyler says:

I think that you should be about 18 to vote because they have more responsible. 16 year olds can be bad and not trusted.

  7. Matas says:

No! because they are still classified as children and some 16 year old are still stupid and follow what their mates do or vote. Finally, they are teenagers so they can not make up their mind to choose the right politician.

  8. Luke D says:

It should stay the same because you are still learning at 16!

  9. Elyse says:

One argument is that 16year olds are allowed to smoke and join the Army however they’re not allowed to be in the frontline.
16 year olds are allowed to have babies , get married and be involved in financial problems so why not be involved in voting in their society. Everybody has a say so why not let them have a go?

  10. Rosalinda says:

One argument against is that the 16 and 17 year olds haven’t got enough experience of life yet and they might choose what benefits them in that moment of time but when they grow older they will realize their errors. An argument for is that if the 16 and 17 year olds can raise children and get married then they can vote for what’s best for their families and their life while also being able to see from a different point of view that can benefit others.

  11. Jodie says:

adults are not the only ones who are being affected by the governments choices. 16 year olds are young adults and have a voice to be heard. the age of consent is 18 but 16 year olds have the responsibility of a child , they can get married and make a lot of different life changing decisions so why cant they vote ?

  12. Ally says:

No because 16 year olds are not mature enough and not deemed as adults.

  13. Kamaljot says:

One reason against is that they’re not mature enough because they are still at school and don’t know what it’s like to be independent.

  14. Luke E says:

Maybe the age to vote should be increased?

  15. Rithin says:

No because they are too young to make their own decisions and not mature enough to study politics.

  16. Mia says:

    Arguments For
If 16 year olds have the responsibility to : have a baby and then look after it , to have a car and drive , to go in the army and actually handling a gun , move into their own house , pay taxes , take part in pressurizing exams they do many more things like these that takes responsibility , then why can’t they have the responsibility to take part in a vote?
    Arguments against
16 year olds are still learning the ways of the world and just getting to know how the world works , 16 year olds aren’t mature enough to take part in a vote.
16 year olds are still in education ! They can’t take the responsibility to take part in a vote !What if they make a really bad decision then in the future they look back to now and they will probably regret their decision . This could also effect their future ,maybe even others ! Not everyone would be pleased then would they?
Sometimes even very mature adults make bad decisions ,so what would happen if 16b year olds vote?
Whatever decision is made by anyone ,lets hope that we all make the right choice.
I hope you like my work.

  17. Amelie and Mia says:

People under the age of 16 shouldn’t be allowed to vote as they might just vote for anyone not knowing what they are doing . Also , they may not be aware of the political things that are happening around them!
